NSSE Webinars

“Tuesday Webinars with NSSE”

NSSE is pleased to host a series of live, interactive Webinars for faculty, administrators, institutional researchers, and student affairs professionals who want to better use and understand their NSSE data.  Each Webinar will include a PowerPoint presentation and a question and answer period.  Webcasts are delivered directly to your desktop or to a computer in a videoconferencing room for group viewing. The Webinars are approximately one hour in length and scheduled at times convenient for all time zones. All Webinars will be recorded and available on the NSSE Web site for later or repeated viewing at your convenience.

Webinar topics include: Assessing the First-Year Experience, Using NSSE Data for Student Affairs, an Introduction to the Beginning College Survey of Student Engagement (BCSSE), Multi-year Analysis of NSSE Data, and additional topics relevant to NSSE data users.

The Webinars are free but advance registration is required. We will post a link to a registration form from the individual, detailed Webinar description approximately 2-3 weeks in advance of each session.

Previously Recorded Webinars

Previously recorded Webinars – which include “Getting Down to Basics: Working with Your NSSE Data,” and several sessions on administering the NSSE survey are now available for viewing.

To Best View the Webinars

To best view live or pre-recorded Webinars, you will need:

  • An Internet connection
    • 56k or above - Broadband strongly recommended. Internet connectivity issues are the most common problem encountered by online Webinar participants.  If bandwidth on your campus is not sufficient to handle the broadcast in addition to all the other Internet interactions taking place there at the given time, the audio and visual portions of the event may not play "in sync" or may even not be receivable.  If you are unsure of your Internet connection speed, please contact your campus computer support staff.
    • Please shut down other applications that may be running in the background.
  • A standard browser such as Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.
  • Macromedia Flash Player 6.0.65 or later as a browser plug-in Note: Macromedia Flash Player is standard in most browsers. This Adobe Web page will determine if the Flash Player is installed on your computer and report the version.
  • A sound card and speakers to hear audio broadcast.
