NSSE 2007 Timeline
2006
Late May
  • Registration opens for NSSE and FSSE 2007
 
August - October
  • Registration remains open until 9/21 for both NSSE and FSSE
  • Institutions begin to submit and upload materials for NSSE and FSSE
 
October
  • Institutions continue to submit and upload materials for NSSE and FSSE
  • Consortia membership must be confirmed by 10/5
  • Student letters/e-mail messages must be completed by 10/12
  • Consortia questions must be finalized by 10/19
  • Population file submission and oversample instruction deadline is 10/31
 
November - December
  • Annual report and benchmark reports sent to 2006 institutions (early-mid November)
  • Institutions finalize any changes needed for NSSE and FSSE materials
 
2007
January
  • Paper mode schools have until 1/20 to noitify NSSE of ineligible students in their population file if they want NSSE to pull a replacement oversample for these students. There is no replacement sampling for Web-Only or Web+ schools
    • For Paper schools with a 5% or greater ineligible rate only, NSSE will pull a random oversample from the remaining population to bring their sample up to the full norms size
 
February - March
  • First wave of NSSE surveys are sent out
  • Special local administration surveys are sent by NSSE staff
  • 3/1 is the deadline for all school to provide NSSE with a list of ineligible students in their population file
    • Paper schools who sent an update for the 1/20 replacement sample deadline may send another update by March 1, but students identified as ineligible after 1/20 will not be replaced
 
March - April
  • Web administration of FSSE begins
  • NSSE/FSSE, CSR, and institutions conduct aggressive follow-up activities including letters and emails
 
May
  • NSSE, CSR, and institutions continue aggressive follow-up activities
  • NSSE & FSSE 2007 registration opens
  • FSSE web administration closes mid-May
 
June - July
  • NSSE web and paper administration closes 6/1
  • Analysis of NSSE & FSSE 2007 data
  • Preparation of NSSE & FSSE 2007 institutional Reports
 
August
  • 2007 Institutional Reports are sent to institutions
