2008
Early June
- Registration opens for NSSE and FSSE 2009 (deadline is 9/18/08)
July
- NSSE Client Services teams begin reviewing registrations for approval
- Consultation begins with institutions about how to prepare for NSSE & FSSE 2009
- NSSE consortia begin to form
August
- Institutions begin to prepare their NSSE customized survey recruitment messages
September
- Institutions begin to register for consortia 9/5
- Deadline to register for NSSE and FSSE 2009 is 9/18
- Deadline for NSSE institutions to submit and upload materials is 9/25:
- For all institutions: customized recruitment messages
- For all NSSE institutions: image to display on web survey
- For paper mode administrations: letterhead, electronic signature
- Deadline to add additional questions for consortia is 9/30
October
- Institutions begin to prepare their FSSE customized survey recruitment messages
- NSSE consortia membership must be confirmed by 10/5
- NSSE population file submission and oversample instruction deadline is 10/30
- NSSE deadline to submit academic calendars by 10/30
November
- NSSE population file review sampling begins and continues for approved population files through mid-December
December
- Institutions submit and upload materials for FSSE by 12/5
- NSSE samples drawn from approved populations by mid-December
- Deadline to resolve questions about NSSE population files is 12/17
2009
January
- 1/15 deadline to upload lists of ineligible students in time to receive a replacement sample
- Test messages are sent to NSSE institutions to test spam filters, etc.
- NSSE survey adminsitration starts in late January for some institutions
February
- NSSE survey invitation messages for most institutions are sent by early February
- Special local administration surveys are sent to institutions in mid-February
- Processing of FSSE materials concludes by late February
- Test messages are sent to FSSE institutions to test spam filters, etc.
March-April
- 3/3 is the deadline for all school to provide NSSE with a list of ineligible students in their population file (without replacement sample)
- Web administration of FSSE begins in mid-March
- Final NSSE survey reminders are sent to most students by the end of April
May
- Final FSSE survey reminders are sent to faculty by the end of May
June - July
- NSSE and FSSE survey administration closes 6/1
- Analysis of NSSE & FSSE 2009 data
- Preparation of NSSE & FSSE Institutional Report 2009
August
- Institutional Report 2009 sent to institutions
